A teenager is accused of stealing a dozen guns from his uncle's home.
Justin Day of Morehead City is charged with two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of larceny of firearms.
Police say late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning the guns were found missing. The 18-year-old Day is accused of going into his uncle's home on Taylor Lane and taking the shotguns and rifles. Police say they believe Day also took another five or six guns about two months ago, that only went unnoticed when the latest weapons were found missing.
Nine of the weapons have been recovered by Morehead City police. A 10th weapon is believed to be in possession of Carteret County deputies.
Day is in jail on a $25,000 secured bond.
