Morehead City Police tells WITN a girl was on her way to school when she spoke with an older man who was standing at the Budget Inn.

The girl was told the man had something for her, but she had to keep it secret. He said he would leave it in the nearby bushes.

The girl found the letter, read it while on the bus, then reported it to officials when she got to school.
