A Newport man is behind bars after being arrested on a sex crime involving a 9-year-old girl.
Joel Miranda is charged with indecent liberties with a child after his arrest last Friday.
The 30-year-old man is jailed on a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to go before a judge later today on the charge.
