After an incident on Tuesday night where two horses were killed after running into passing cars in Onslow County, similar events involving animals occurred Wednesday in Havelock and Carteret County.
According to The New Bern Sun Journal a family driving on Highway 70 collided with cow that wandered into the road. The paper says that the animal got out from its nearby farm, along with another cow that the driver luckily missed. No one was injured but the cow was killed on impact.
In Carteret County, The Jacksonville Daily News reports that Tomasina, a turkey that became an official resident of the town of Davis, died after he was hit by a car.
