A Cherry Point Marine is behind bars and charged with rape.
The Beaufort Police Department in Carteret County says 22-year-old Hector Castro is also charged with theft of a vehicle and DWI.
Police say they were called to the Beaufort Inn Sunday morning about an alleged rape.
Police say the 22-year-old victim told police she met Castro Saturday night at a Morehead City bar. She says her sister confronted him Sunday morning at the hotel, where he drove away with her boyfriend's car.
Morehead city police stopped the vehicle driven by Castro near 12th and Arendell and took him into custody.
Bond for Castro was set at $20,500.
Castro is a Corporal with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14. He's from L.A. and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2008.
