The Coast Guard had to medevac a man from a boat near Bogue Inlet after he suffered a heart attack.
The 50-year-old was on a 14-foot boat in Coast Guard channel Thursday afternoon when he fell ill. The Coast Guard got a report that he wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse.
Members on the boat started CPR and the Coast Guard took over when they arrived and took the man to Carteret General Hospital.
The chief petty officer-in-charge at station Emerald Isle said never in his 15 years of service has he witnessed or taken part in someone being revived like this.
