Businesses and tourists alike are glad to see nicer weather along the coast for the 4th of July after all the rain.
Sunny skies lit up the beach Wednesday afternoon as tons of people piled onto the sand and into the ocean.
Our meteorologists expect this 4th of July holiday to be a good one weather-wise throughout, something that many beach-goers are happy to hear.
Donna Valentine and her husband live in Morehead City, and say they've dealt with enough rain recently. Valentine says, "We're thankful to get the rain because I know we were behind with rain, but you know, it comes and goes here so quickly, you never know what's going to happen. But I'm confident that we're going to have sun for the next few days, and hopeful that we can enjoy this nice weather."
Valentine says she's noticed heavier traffic over the last couple of days for the holiday weekend, she says the sunshine is coming at the perfect time to coordinate with everyone's holiday plans.
