Ft. Macon Reenactor Takes On The Role Of Relative 150-Years Later

An Eastern Carolina man will reenact the role his great great great grandfather played in the battle of Ft. Macon during the 150th anniversary this weekend.

Jake Jennette has been reenacting for over 30 years, portraying his relative at Fort Macon on the weekends, using his heritage and love of the Civil War to teach history. Jennette says, "It's incumbent upon us to share what we know because if you don't pass this information along, it's like you got to keep repeating it so history doesn't repeat itself."

The battle of Fort Macon will be reenacted on Saturday at the Fort. They will also have other related events throughout the weekend.
