For the second time the case of a former Marine base commanding offer accused of drunk driving has been continued in court.
Col. Douglas Denn, who was commander at Cherry Point when he was arrested, was scheduled to appear in Carteret County District Court on Wednesday. He's accused of driving drunk.
Court records show that Denn was charged in October with driving while impaired, speeding and possession of an open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Records showed his blood alcohol content was .14%.
Denn was named commander at Cherry Point in August of 2009 and stripped of that command a day after news of his arrest got out.
A new court date was not immediately available.
