Five Records Shattered Or Tied By This Morning's Cold

At least five records were either tied or shattered this morning by the cold weather.

New Bern and Morehead City set new record lows for March 27th, while Greenville, Washington, and Hatteras tied existing lows.

In New Bern, a 24° reading broke the old 1955 record of 25°. Morehead City's 27° low shattered the old one of 34° which was set in 2001.

Greenville hit a 25° reading, tying one set in 1971, while Washington's 25° tied a low for the date set in 1894.

On the beach, Hatteras dipped down to 35°, as it did in 2001 on this same date.
