A manager of a Crystal Coast motel is recovering after he was stabbed Thursday afternoon.
Atlantic Beach police say it happened at the Oceanana Motel around 4:00 p.m. They were told the day manager, Edmund Ferrell, asked Eddie Day to leave the property. It turned into a verbal altercation and escalated into Ferrell being stabbed.
Officers say they were able to captured the 71-year-old Day after he drove his vehicle through a children's playground area at the motel.
The victim was transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Day, who lives in Goldsboro, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and careless and reckless driving. His bond was set at $25,000.
