Replicas of two of Christopher Columbus' ships will dock in Carteret County Thursday.
Starting Friday, the 'Pinta' and 'Nina' replicas of Columbus' ships will open for self-guided tours in Morehead City.
Both ships will be docked at the Sanitary Fish Restaurant until Monday.
Organizers say the 'Nina' was completely hand built without the use of power tools.
Organizers also say the two ships travel together as a sailing museum, with the 'Pinta' being built recently to accompany the 'Nina' on all travels.
Admission to board the ships is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $6 for students ages 5 through 16. Children ages 4 and under are free.
The ships will open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
