People on our coast enjoyed a beautiful day at the beach Thursday, but are bracing for big changes as Hurricane Sandy gets closer.
The waves at Atlantic Beach were relatively calm Thursday night, but forecasters say we could see big waves crashing onto our coast this weekend and people are getting ready.
Locals at the Tackle Box Tavern say they don't think the storm will do much damage, but Donna Crane says after her past experiences with storms, she isn't taking any chances. "During Irene we had 50 trees knocked down."
Crane says they've already taken all of their outdoor furniture and other items off the porch.
National Weather Service senior forecaster Brian Cullen says some areas on our coast could see moderate coastal flooding of up to four feet, spelling trouble for any waterside homes not raised onto stilts.
