Some visitors who booked reservations for the Fourth of July holiday are wondering what to do if the storm hits.
We spoke to the folks at Emerald Isle Realty who say their rental properties are 100 percent booked this week.
They say they are keeping a close eye on the storm and have a specific policy if evacuations are ordered.
Allison Wax Carter with Emerald Isle Realty says, "If it's a named storm and a mandatory evacuation then we ask our guests to leave as well. It's for their own best interest. The town will be keeping an eye on it, we'll be paying attention to y'all and what your recommendations are, and folks will leave, but I don't think we'll get anywhere near that. At least I hope not."
Wax Carter says its always a good idea to get travelers insurance. That way if you do have to leave, or cancel a reservation because of a big storm, you will be refunded and can book a different week.
