Chefs Compete In Crab Cake Competition

As you'd expect food took center stage during the North Carolina Seafood Festival, especially in the chef's tent.

That's where organizers looked to crown a crab cake champion. Meteorologist Matt Engelbrecht was the MC for the event.

Four Chefs battled over the course of several hours, with each one getting the kitchen to themselves.

Clark Merrell with Circa 81 restaurant in Morehead City participated. So did David Greenwell of 42nd Street Oyster Bar and Seafood Grill in Raleigh and Kelly Murphrey of Piccata’s out of Morehead City, and Keith Rhodes of Catch in Wilmington.

Keith Rhodes of Catch ended up winning the event.
