UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory Lifted For Cedar Point

The precautionary System Pressure Advisory issued for some of the West Carteret Water Corporation customers in Cedar Point has been lifted, as of 1 P.M. Saturday. The West Carteret Water Corporation says all water tested water samples are now satisfactory.

They say people may see milky-colored water at first, but that it's just a sign of air still remaining in the water.

Residents of Cedar Point in Carteret County are being told they should boil their water before using it.

The West Carteret Water Corporation says the boil water advisory is due to a water main break on Highway 24 near Old Highway 58.

Customers will experience periods of low or no water pressure, and during this time there is a potential for bacteria to get into the system.

Because of that, residents should boil all water for one minute that is used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes or food preparation.

The advisory will remain until testing confirms the water is safe to drink.
