Morehead City Mayor Jerry Jones says the town can rewrite the industrial zoning ordinance even though the port is owned by the state.
The clean county coalition wants to reword the ordinance in order to prevent any plans in the future like the sulfur melting facility the PCS Phosphate was planning and then abandoned.
