Carteret General Remains On Generator Power, Phones Restored

Carteret General Hospital continues to run on generator power after last night's tornado.

Minor structural damage has been reported to the hospital, with HVAC fans lost off some roofs, while part of the roof to the hospital's Education Center was also damaged.

Spokeswoman Michelle Lee says the hospital remains open and phone service has been restored, though some services have been put on hold.

Lee says many trees and debris have littered the property, and some 80 vehicles were damaged in their parking area. Crews are continuing to clean up broken glass in those parking areas.

She says no one was injured at the hospital because of the storm.

Carteret Medical Group has regained power and is open.

The CGH Urgent Care anticipates opening this morning at 11:30am.

Surgical Services is open for all procedures

The CGH Urgent Care, Wound Center and Rehabilitation are closed until power is restored.

Raab Oncology Clinic is closed. Patients are being contacted to reschedule needed treatments.

Elective surgeries are suspended. Patients are being contacted to reschedule. Urgent surgeries are still being performed.

Carteret Medical Group and Coleman Radiation are closed until power is restored.

The emergency department and the CGH Imaging Center are open.
