A Crystal Coast hospital is one step closer to a brand new 112,000 square foot facility.
On Thursday, Carteret General Hospital will host their topping out ceremony as construction continues on the new Specialty Pavilion.
The ceremonial construction celebration is when crews place the topmost steel beam in a new structure.
This addition gives medical staff a new, 112,000 square feet to work with. In that new space, the hospital said it will house specialty offices including a Cancer Care center.
The topping off ceremony starts at 11:30 Thursday morning.
Construction is set to be complete in 2015.
