We're just days away from the North Carolina Seafood Festival and all this week we're giving you a sneak peak at what you can expect.
One of the most meaningful events comes this Sunday for the Blessing of the Fleet.
Traditionally there is a music, prayer, and a message along with designated speakers.
During the boat processional, families of local fisherman ride the boats through, tossing wreaths into the water-- in honor of local fisherman lost while working in the commercial industry.
The event is also a time of celebration and thanksgiving for our state's resource of seafood.
The Blessing of the Fleet is Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at the State Port.
