By 2:15PM, Highway 101 was re-opened after a moped versus SUV wreck.
The driver of the SUV told WITN's Lindsey Fry he had attempted to pass a vehicle in front of him when the moped two cars away made a left-hand turn. The driver said that is when the two collided.
No word from troopers yet on charges or the severity of injuries.
WITN's Lindsey Fry is on scene in Carteret County of a wreck where a moped and sport utility vehicle collided.
The wreck is along Highway 101 in the town of Beaufort. Troopers are detouring traffic along Tuttles Grove Road.
The driver of the moped has been airlifted from the scene of the wreck.
