A man rescued while swimming at a popular spot in Atlantic Beach is in critical condition.
Atlantic Beach Fire Chief Adam Snyder says crews rescued a 20-year-old man who was in distress in the water at the Circle around 3 p.m. Thursday.
Snyder says the man got caught in a rip current, and life guards rescued him from the water. The rescue crews performed CPR to get the man breathing on his own and restore his pulse.
There is a moderate risk of strong rip currents on the Crystal Coast on Friday.
