Lawmen say a family feud turned into an accidental shooting early Saturday morning.
43-year-old Stephen Starnes is in the Carteret County jail after deputies say he and his wife got in an argument. Investigators say Mrs. Starnes called her dad to come pick her up, and her father came with a revolver.
Deputies say Starnes and his father-in-law struggled over the gun when the .22 caliber revolver went off and shot the father-in-law in his leg.
The victim is expected to recover while Starnes in in jail under a $10,000 bond, charged with assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury.
