Ferries Full As Cape Lookout Is Evacuated

Cape Lookout is shutting down operations and evacuating park visitors on Wednesday.

The National Park Service says the national seashore will close to the public at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday because of Arthur.

Ferry service to evacuate visitors and vehicles on the island will stop running by 5:00 p.m. on that date.

They expect winds up to 75 miles per hour on Core Banks from Arthur.

The National Park Service says Cape Lookout, along with visitor centers in Beaufort and Harkers Island will be closed until further notice due to the storm.
