Coastal Hotels Excited For 4th Business Boom

The Fourth of July holiday brings a lot of people to our coast not only to swim in our beautiful beaches but also to dine, shop and stay in our hotels.

This year business owners on Emerald Isle are expecting a huge turnout this season.

Restaurants and retail stores are staffing up, bringing more people in to deal with rush.

Some hotels are already booked up for the weekend like The Islander. One reason why businesses feel like more people will come to our coast is because of the oil spill that's affecting areas in the gulf.

Since our beaches are still free from the oil, many owners think this will be an ideal place for families to enjoy their holiday.

Owners on Emerald Isle say every 4th of July holiday they get a big rush. But this year may break a record.

I think that is a BIG STRETCH to call it a business boom but I guess anything looks like a 'boom' after what we have suffered.
