Couple Rescued From Bogue Sound

A couple had to be rescued from the Bogue Sound Thursday morning after their boat capsized.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. just in front of the Division of Marine Fisheries dock. A man and a woman were on the 14-foot sailboat out enjoying the day when strong current and winds capsized their boat as they were attempting to make a turn.

The boat ran into the Marine Fisheries dock, and employees then heard the two people yelling for help. The couple was not hurt and the boat was towed to shore.

To can't say, I'd love to buy that guy a beer. It's good that you do have heroes out there. They put their lives on the line just to save that couple.

OH, i am SOOO glad everyone is fine. That is why I bought my new beautiful Cabin cruiser. The smaller boats just scare me so badly and turn over so easily. In my cabin cruiser I feel secure. So glad they are ok.

The captain of the "rescue vessel" is a Marshallberger so those of us watching from the building knew he would save the day. Somebody buy the man a beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now thats the stuff that makes America, America! Looking at the picture; if im guessing right; those two boys/men,broke it down to the 'boxers', and are hanging 30% of the way off the front of a 'Carolina Skiff', in white water, downstream of the current. kudos to them and a nice move on the part of whomever is piloting that craft. awesome story with the perfect picture to prove it! just plain guts and glory.
