Neighbor Rescues Two Dogs From Burning Home

Fire Officials tell WITN that a home was completely destroyed by a fire in Carteret County last night. Officials say no one was home at the time, and a neighbor was able to rescue two dogs that were inside.

Officials say they were called to a home on Taylor Creek Lane in Beaufort around 10 pm Saturday night. They say when they arrived the home was completely engulfed in flames. And it took them many hours to get the fire under control.

Officials say the flames were so strong it melted the siding of a neighbors house and busted a window.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Officials say no one was injured and the home is a total loss.

Thank you so much to those who saved Sophie and the other dog. Our house is gone but we still have our memories. Thank God no one was hurt!
