Firefighters Overcome By Heat

Officials say two firefighters were overcome by the heat and taken to the hospital while battling a fire in Carteret County.

The fire broke out Friday morning at SPX manufacturing facility off Highway 24 on Hankinson Drive.

One of the firefighters has already been released from the hospital and the other is being held overnight at Carteret General for observation.

The fire, which is now out, is believed to have been chemical-related.

We'll pass along new details as we get them.
