A former school psychologist arrested in 2009 for allegedly taking inappropriate nude pictures of a boy was found dead near his Carteret County home Monday, according to police.
Officials tell WITN the body of Johnny Clevinger was found near his Morehead City home in the Blair Farms subdivision.
Morehead City police say Clevinger's body was found by a woman walking her dog about 8:00 a.m. Monday, and that his body was partially on a road.
An autopsy was performed Monday afternoon. Police say no foul play appeared to be involved and there was no sign of self-inflicted wound.
Clevinger, age 51, was charged last year of taking indecent liberties with a minor and first degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
An online court calendar showed Clevinger was due in court June 11.
Lawmen say they found hundreds of photos of several other children at Clevinger's home and also seized three computers, two from his house and one from a school he worked at.
