Teens Accused In Beach Crime Spree

Two teens are accused of doing more than $5,000 in damages in an overnight crime spree at the beach.

Emerald Isle police say Jessie Farmer and Garrett Staggs, both who are 16 years old, are charged with multiple felony and misdemeanor charges that stem from the burglary of one business and multiple counts of vandalism.

Police say Monday they received reports of vehicles in the Sea Oats subdivision being vandalized with spray paint. While investigating the vandalism, police discovered that the Pacific Superstore had been broken into overnight. Money and merchandise was taken and police say they found things at the scene which led them to Farmer and Staggs.

Police say the teens used two stolen bicycles to move between various crime scenes. Both were placed in the Carteret County jail under a custody release to the parents, which means that the only way that they can be released is for their parents to sign them out.

Please stop this! You people dont understand how much these comments are hurting the people closest to these boys. Honestly, I am crying right now because dont know what the heck is going to happen to my BEST FRIEND! I cant live ten years without him. He is my everything and trust me, once he goes so do all the rest of my happy days. His dad, mom, brothers, sisters, and even his nephew are all gonna be affected by this as well. There is no need for people like yall to hound my boy for something he did wrong. I know for a fact that NONE of you people would be saying those hateful things if YOU were in this situation, or one of your family members.

They "still ARE good kids?" Give me a break. They are thieves, vandals and felons. "Don't judge?" Are you serious? Sounds like you, "Gessica" should be investigated as an accomplice. This is how the works, it's not like your MTV "Reality" show, nobody cares how "good" they were - facts are facts, and they are now criminals. Hopefully the jury pushes for 10-20 years behind bars.

When I was 16 year old I was working at a quarry job I had for 43 years until I retired July 27 1996. I didn't steal or vandalize if I did my old man would have shot me and buried me in the back field because that s what you did then. The ole days. Now these sissy kids look at em with their girl hair bobs and that one looks like he's wearing mascara. They rob and steal and their peers come on here talking about how "cool" they are. Yeah theyre cool they steal from the working man and turn that money in to mtv video games or those girlish text phones they all have. Pressin buttons like pansies. Lookit me, they yell, I press buttons and send a funny noise. Meanwhile young men, real men not these sissy excuses that have to steal to buy lipgloss are in a Vietnam firefight. Men the Marines are fighting there every day pushing back the communists. But here we have these kids. For shame I hope and pray they do federal prison. And the rest of them saying theyre "wonderful" they do time too.

I love the reasoning behind the "supporters" of these criminals: "both are cool," "he's really funny, he's chill," "they just made a mistake,"they are great people," "he plays baseball, he wrestles." Yes, they are really "cool." Sixteen year olds with multiple felony counts. You have to be seriously deluded to say something like "they are wonderful people." Wonderful people do not vandalize cars, break into businesses, steal money and destroy whatever they come across. Here's hoping they do serious time, 5-10 years for these felonies. They ARE criminals. If I was the owner of the Pacific store they robbed, believe me, I would be pushing for the maximum sentence - if that means life, then so be it. Have fun in the slammer, boys.

I know both of this teens. Both are cool but what they did was wrong. Jessie was my ex but he really did change. I know that they did a mistake but now their paying for it. Staggs well he so funny and all really lay back but he does know what is right and wrong. Well both of them know whats wrong and right. As much as I care for them they need to learn or else their just going to continue to do the same thing. I'm not happy their in jail. What i am is... embarrassed to say that Farmer is my ex and he did this. Well hopefully they can fix up their lives when they do get out.

ok. josh.. please dont ever open your mouth again.. about anything... nobody likes you, okay! These boys are wonderful people and you people really should quit saying stuff, like you actually know something! ha.. you only wish you did. But still, its none of y'alls business about what happens to the boys now.. so please. cut the crap. nobody needs to be talking about racism and "thugs".. really, nobody should be talking at all. The boys need to be able to come back without everyone being down their throat about this. Honestly, just give it a rest.
