"Pills Can Kill" Collection Saturday

If you have old prescriptions, this weekend is the time to get rid of them so they don't end up in the wrong hands.

The Carteret County Sheriff's Office is teaming up again with Food Lion for their fourth annual "Pills can Kill" campaign.

They're asking anyone with old prescriptions, especially narcotics, to turn them into any of the county's five Food Lion locations Saturday. Locations are in Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, Newport, Morehead City, and Beaufort.

The sheriff's office destroys the old medications and discourages people from flushing medications anymore.

FLUSH EM DOWN THE TOILET THAT WAY YOU KNOW THEY ARE GONE . IF YOU GIVE EM TO THE COPS THEY MIGHT WANT SOME FOR THEIR OWN USE. FLUSH EM AND NOBODY IS GOING TO GET THEM.
