Deputies say they caught a Newport man red-handed at a business break-in Tuesday night.
Alan Gulizia is charged with breaking and entering and placed in jail on a $15,000 bond.
Deputies say they were on patrol and spotted a suspicious person behind a vehicle at Auto World of Newport. They found Gulizia at the back door with a metal pipe still in his hand. Their investigation showed the 55-year-old man had just beaten the knob off of the back door to the business when they arrived.
