Father And Daughter Arrested For Selling Pills

It's not your typical father/daughter activity.

Wednesday the Beaufort Police Department arrested 54 year old Fernie Simmons and his daughter 24 year old Crystal Simmons for selling Oxycontin Pills.

Undercover agents made the bust.

Police say they bought 10 pills from the duo and found 2 more pills in Crystal Simmons car.

Crystal and Fernie Simmons were charged with selling a controlled substance among other charges. Crystal had a $5,000 dollar bond, Fernie a $2,500 bond.

I used to look at these stories and think like some of the comments, but now, I know for a fact that this story is being taken to another level, I know these people personally and know that the story is being taking to the wrong level for the father. He is not a bad father and I KNOW that he did not make his daughter sell them. It probably seemed that way at the time, but the truth will come out during court. I am not not pleading on his behalf but I will pray that the father does not suffer for something he did not do.

Um, this is why this generation is the worst ever. Look at the quality parenting going on. Nice Dad...nice.

I don't think the pills themselves are evil, nor is this more of a crime than most other drugs. Some people are apt to do nearly anything to feel different (catch a buzz). Whether it be drinking, smoking, mushrooms, huffing glue...they'll find something. Look up "Jenkum"...that will give you an idea of how low some people will stoop for a "head rush". It's not the pills, don't hate the companies for making them. If I'm stupid enough to buy/take a pill that wasn't prescribed to me...and my health is damaged...it should be my fault alone, not the dealer. I can't sue the company, nor the dealer. The real "crime" in this is no more than legal jargon. If I sell you a car and you could it the next day, am I held responsible or put in jail? Not ALL drugs should be included, of course. (Boy what a mess we'd have if they prescribed cocaine regularly for everyone, huh?)

Jimbo- I doubt it was the father putting the daughter up to it seriously. Im sure the pills were his yes, and she was selling them. Come on...a 24 year old was forced to selling pills? They are both at fault.

Larry, if you say you have to sell your pills to eat, what do you sell for the healthcare and prescription costs or is that free for you?
