Restaurant Co-Owner, Employee Turned Over To Immigration Officials

The co-owner of an Italian restaurant in Carteret County and an employee are in federal custody, suspected of being in the country illegally.

They were among three people arrested last week by deputies.

Carteret County deputies say Ehab Ghareeb co-owned the Every Day Italian Restaurant in Newport. Deputies say Bassem Fangary was an employee.

Deputies say the two men from the Middle East were in the country illegally.

Two nights earlier deputies say they arrested Francisco Limon after they say he called the 911 center several times and wouldn't give a reason for the calls.

All three men were turned over to Immigration & Customs Enforcement agents.
