Safety Zone Put Up Around Ship And Port During HazMat Spill

According to the Coast Guard Compass, a 300-yard safety zone was placed around a vessel "Lehmann Forester" at the port during Tuesday's hazardous material spill.

A 2-mile safety zone was also placed around the port.

The Coast Guard Compass reported the spill was isolated to the ship and "happened during the normal offloading of the commercial vessel."

According to online records, the Lehmann Forester is a cargo ship out of Antigua and Barbuda. Officials say the ship originated in Spain.
