The Morehead City Port is one of the deepest ports on the East Coast of the United States.
According to the port's website, it handles "both breakbulk and bulk cargo and is the second largest importer in the country for natural rubber."
Materials that come into the port are transported out via roadways like Highway 70 and also by train.
