A landscaper got quite a scare Thursday morning when he came up on a hefty alligator at a coastal nursery.
The alligator was found at Redfearn's Nursery on Highway 24 in Cedar Point. It was an eight foot long gator, weighing in excess of 200 pounds.
It took North Carolina Wildlife officers and local police about an hour to snag the alligator around lunchtime. Click on the image to view more pictures of the alligator.
The reptile was some 500 feet from the Intracoastal Waterway. It was removed back to its natural habitat.
