A man wanted for numerous drug charges has been captured by police.

The Newport Police Department captured Willie Walton Friday after a brief foot pursuit.

Police say Walton was caught with crack cocaine on him at the time of his arrest. Walton was recently released from the Department of Corrections back in May.

He faces numerous charges including four counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver crack within a thousand feet of a school.

He was jailed under a $30,000 dollar secured bond
