U.S. Senator Kay Hagan was in the east Friday talking about preserving coastal history, increasing tourism, and boosting the economy.
Senator Hagan spoke to a crowd of over 100 at the grand opening of a new gallery at the Waterfowl Museum on Harker's Island. Hagan talked to the crowd about the importance of preserving cultural heritage, and preserving coastal history for generations to come.
Hagan said it's important to achieve those goals so tourists continue to visit coastal Carteret County, which increases tourism, builds up the economy and creates jobs.
Senator Hagan also participated in a ribbon cutting dedicating a new gallery at the waterfowl museum.
