It's the second largest festival in the state, and it's happening this weekend right here in Eastern Carolina.
The 23rd annual North Carolina Seafood Festival kicks off Friday evening in Morehead City. Since 1987, the festival has raised over $1.8 million for non-profit groups in Carteret County.
The festival helps promote the social and economic impact of the seafood industry on the state, educate the public about the importance of the seafood industry, and boost tourism and recreation here in East Carolina.
The festival kicks off at 5:00 p.m. Friday. On Saturday events start at 10:00 a.m. and then on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
WITN News will be live throughout this weekend down on the waterfront, so make sure to stop by our booth and say hello!
