Downtown Morehead City is getting ready for the 23rd annual North Carolina Seafood Festival.
Opening ceremonies kick off on October 2nd, and the festival runs through Sunday October 4th.
WITN is a proud co-sponsor of the event which will include entertainment, amusement rides and lots of great food.
The event is designed to promote the positive social and economic impact of the seafood industry on the citizens of our state.
Festival proceeds are shared with community organizations who donate their efforts to the event.
Since 1987, over $1.8 million has been dispersed among participating Carteret County non-profit groups.
WITN will be doing live reports leading up to the North Carolina Seafood Festival all week beginning Monday September 28th with WITN Jacksonville Beau Chief Chelsea Donovan.
