Photo Lineup Lead To Pharmacy Robbery Arrest

There's been an arrest in the armed robbery of a Morehead City pharmacy.

Donald Reid, Jr. of Morehead City is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and second degree kidnapping.

Police say Reid came into the Medical Park Pharmacy West Tuesday morning and demanded money and drugs. Police say he made off with $250 in cash along with over $4500 in Oxycotin and Dalaudid.

Police say early on Reid was developed as a suspect thanks to one of the witnesses. Tuesday night, police say, Reid was picked out of a photo lineup by witnesses and employees.

Police say none of the drugs or money have yet been recovered.

Police are looking for an armed robber who held up a pharmacy Monday morning.

Morehead City police say the Medical Park Pharmacy West was robbed around 9:00 a.m. The pharmacy is next to the Wal-Mart on Highway 24.

The man came in with a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money and drugs. There were several customers in the store, along with 3-4 employees. The gunman ordered everyone to lay down on the floor and not to follow them out or he would come back in and shoot them.

No one was injured in the robbery and the gunman made his getaway in a black two-door car.

The robber is described as a white man in his mid to late 20's, with a medium build. The man was last wearing tan work pants, white shirt and a blue bandanna on his head. He also has a tan tobahhan on top of his head and was wearing sunglasses.

I truely believe that everyone should check out the actual facts before making comments about this terrible incident. It is a bad thing that happened but DJ REID was not responsible for any of it. If one would check the evidence you would all know that he is NOT responsible for any of it. He actually has plenty of alibies that are more than willing to testify in his behalf. Including the SBI polygraph consultant. Think before you comment. Really!!! And I personally do not have any respect at all For MCPD after they close serious cases without further investigation. My personal opinion is to get a life and stop trying to jump to conclusions about matters in which you have NO idea about. Try using the United States of AMERICA's " Innocent Until Proven Guilty" by-law. I appreciate you taking time to read an actual intelligent persons view on this matter. Maybe we all need to take a long hard look at our media sources in this community because clearly that is where opinions come...

Saltine--There's a mug shot of a black man on the witn homepage today. Maybe, before you make a comment, you should make sure you have some basis on which to make it.

I was shocked and in tears that something like this could happen to the some of the nicest people in the world. The MPP West staff always go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. I am so sorry that they went through such a horrible scare that will remain in their minds forever. Also for the innocent customers who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
