Woman Dies After Golf Cart Accident

Authorities say a woman died Sunday after being injured in a golf cart accident this past weekend.

The Carteret County Sheriff's Office says rescue units were sent to White Oak Shores in Stella after getting a call that a woman had fallen off a golf cart.

They found the woman alive at the campground and transported her to Carteret General Hospital. The woman was then airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital where she died Sunday.

An EMS report says the woman fell from the golf cart and received a head injury. It says alcohol was involved, but doesn't say if someone else was driving the golf cart or not.

Deputies say it's been ruled an accidental death.

I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, support and prays during this most difficult time in my life. Everyone knows how much I loved Cindy and what she meant to me. She was a breathe of fresh air and a ray of sunshine in any place she entered. She saw and brought out the best in everyone she was with. She will be missed dearly by Hunter and myself. Again I would like to think my co-workers, our friends at WOS, her family and mine for everything they have done. Especially my son Hunter who has been by my side daily. You are now my hero. We will miss you Cindy. We love you bunches.

While I agonize over Cindy's death, I commend her for having the foresite to donate her organs so that other people can live a more productive life. Altho I do not know who received what, I think it is deplorable to post that you know who received what from whom. Doesn't that come under some kind of patients privacy act?? To the family of Cindy, I am truely sorry for her untimely death. My heart goes out to all of you. To the families of the doner recipients, you need to appreciate the sacrifice that has been made so that your family member can have a better life. Michael, Hunter, Brittany and Cam Cam, thank you for sharing her with so many!! She had to have been a beautiful person inside and out. To the people receiving her donations, you please take care of them because she will live on through you!!

Cindy was one of the most beautiful people I have ever met on the inside and out. She looked at the world much different and boy didn’t she love her Brittany and Cam Cam(as Hayden would say). And My Uncle Micheal I don’t think I have ever seen a man as happy as him when he was with her, But I guess she had that affect on everyone she knew and loved. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful person looking down on us. She has touched everyone’s life she knew and I know she will be greatly missed. Everyone needs to let camdyn know how wonderful his Grandma was…….we love and miss you so much!

I have known Cindy since she was a young girl. To all you heartless souls like Ace who make cruel and derogatory remarks, did you know Cindy at all? Cindy was a kind, loving, considerate person who never complained. She had a heart of gold which someone is fortunate to have now & beautiful blue eyes which someone else can see with now. God bless you Cindy & all of your family. You were truly loved by many & will be missed. (P.S. Ace, I hope other residents of Plymouth aren't as igonorant as you.)

As Cindy's sister, I appreciate all the loving comments. Cindy has left behind a legacy of life for several people. We all loved her so much... she had eyes as blue as the sky, her smile was as bright as the sun and her heart was as as big as God could make it. We are devastated by her loss, but take heart in the fact that she was a Christian and now resides with God. We don't often understand God's plan, but He does, and we get our peace from knowing that we will see her again and that people are living on through her organ donation. Please pray for our Brittany, my Mom and rest of our family including Michael and Hunter Bryan who she loved dearly.

I second Crystals response, it is clear that the people who have negative statements to say have no idea what is actually going on. All everyone needs to focus on is the fact it was a tragic loss, and people are suffering for several different reasons. Cindy will be missed and several people have had their lives changed forever, but there is a reason it was called an ACCIDENT!

My heart goes out to Mike and Hunter...Hunter is an AWESOME kid to have to handle this great amount of tragedy in such a short period of time at his age. I admire his character and strength. I can see that his father(Mike)has done an outstanding job raising him. Stuff happens in life rather you have a helmet, insurace, knee pads, and all that other crap. Sometimes it just happens! Hunter knows this now and will keep these memories to learn from. My hat is off to Hunter and Mike for being there for one another. Cindy was a precious woman. I have never heard her take judgement on anyone rather she like them or not! We love you guys!! Keep your chin up!! And Susie, I am with you on your last post...everyone has to learn at some point...God Bless all!

This was a tragic Accident. This woman was a ray of sunshine at WOS. My heart goes out to her family and Michael Bryan. And also to all of her many friends that loved her.She continues to help others through the donation of her organs lives have been saved. Anyone callous enough to say that someone should be charged with manslaughter not only is unaware of the circumstances but clearly has no respect for the people involved. People who live in glass houses should not cast stones. You should never make accusations when you don't know the facts. Please give those involved your support and prayers. Ms. Cindy thank you for touching so many lives you will greatly missed and always remembered.
