We first brought you their stories in April and May...Krysta, Johnathan, Javar, Jamara, Camaria, and Ronald. They're job seekers among the thousands here in the East, doing everything in their power to obtain a job.
We have an update on a few of the job seekers stories.
When we first met Krysta Carson in April she had just moved to Carteret County, and had been searching for a job for about 8 months, looking for anything from a paralegal, to clerical work. We are now happy to report Carson actually started a job the first of June, about a month of so after we talked to her. She is currently working as an accountant at Onslow Carteret Behavioral Services.
In April we also met Jonahtan Smith in Carteret County, an Iraq war veteran, he had been searching for a job for about 3 weeks. He too actually found a job, one week after we interviewed him. He is now a security guard in Atlantic Beach.
Next in Onslow County we met Ronald Myatt in late April. Myatt had been looking for a job for about 3 weeks, after being let go from a local car dealership. He was hoping to gain employment quick as he has a child to support.
Myatt is actually still looking for a job, continuing to send out dozens of applications a month. He also is now receiving unemployment benefits.
Camaria Watkins who we also met in Onslow County, continues her search for a job as well. When we first met this former chef and caterer, she had been looking for a job for about 3 weeks. Watkins says she is continuing to look for work in the culinary field.
In may we met Javar Crutchfield in Craven County, he had been looking for a job in the restaurant industry since last December. He still hasn't found a job, but had 2 interviews last week at two restaurants in New Bern.
The same holds true for job seeker Jamara Washington who we met in Craven County. He had been out of work for 3 months when we first spoke, and just like Crutchfield he has had several interviews since we met, but still hasn't landed a job.
