Silver Alert Cancelled For Missing Couple

The Silver Alert for Richard and Marilyn Pittman, who left Carteret County Monday morning and headed to their daughter's home in Surf City, has been cancelled.

Officials say the two were lost for about 13 hours, but finally made it to Surf City around 9 p.m. Monday night.

    I agree. They should not be driving. And if the daughter knew of their dementia, why in the world did she let them? Duh?!?!?! What did you expect to happen to them. Shes just lucky that they are safe.

    Glad they are back, but for their own safety and well being, they don't need to be by themselves driving if even driving at all.

    I think the time has come to take the license. I know it's one of the hardest things to ever have to do, but you have to think of their safety and that of others. I'm glad they are safe now.

    I can't imagine the anguish this daughter is going through. My prayers are that the couple will be found safe and sound.

    If the daughter knew they were lost in Carteret County, why didn't she go get them? If she knew they both have dementia why did she let them start the trip?

    I think the Doctor who see's these two people need to explain WHY,they still have license.AND,if the Doctor did his job,then the DMV might need to questioned.

    I hope they are found save....BUT "Both the 78-year-old man and his 74-year-old wife suffer from dementia" Why are they still driving???????
