The Crystal Coast Visitors Center is gearing up for National Tourism Week May 9th through the 17th.
National Tourism Week, or now called See America Week, is celebrated all over the country with events and activities that salute the tourism industry and the economic impact it has.
Elizabeth Barrow from the Crystal Coast Tourism Authority says there are 3,000 tourism related employees on the Crystal Coast and the industry along the coast generates 270 million dollars a year.
National Tourism Week was signed as a proclamation by President Ronald Reagan in 1983.
