Authorities discovered a local counterfeit money ring and busted three people for allegedly being involved.
Kendall Walbert, Richard Murphrey and Daniel Smith have been arrested. That's after police got several calls from businesses in Beaufort and Carteret county, reporting they had received fake bills.
Those calls led police to search a residence on Marst Street where they found a paper cutter used to cut the bills, a computer, and some marijuana.
Walbert was inside the home at the time of the search and was arrested, Murphrey was arrested earlier in the day, and Mathis later turned himself in.
