After Hurricane Arthur swept through parts of the east and the fun filled events of the July 4 weekend, one local community is working to clean up its beach.
Pine Knoll Shores in Carteret County is teaming up with the North Carolina Aquarium Monday to host a post-holiday beach clean up day.
Anyone can volunteer to help clean up Pine Knoll Shores Beach. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own drinking water and work gloves.
Garbage bags to collect trash will be provided.
Those participating will meet 9 a.m. Monday at the Iron Steamer Public Access Point where assignments will be given.
