Senator Burr Visits Eastern Carolina

The U.S. Senate is on recess, Senator Richard Burr is making the rounds in Eastern Carolina Wednesday.

Burr's day begins in Beaufort with a visit to Jarrett Bay Boats at 9 a.m. He heads north to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock for a visit at 11 a.m. That is also the time when 150 Marines are scheduled to return to the base from a seven month deployment.

The senator will visit Carolina East Health System in New Bern at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Senator Burr will then visit Hatteras Yachts of New Bern at 2:30 p.m. The boat builder welcomed Gov. Bev Perdue last week. They recently announced they would be adding hundreds of jobs.

The final stop on Senator Burr's agenda Wednesday is West Pharmaceutical in Kinston.

Senator Burr is up for re-election this fall, facing North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall on the ballot in November.

Sorry Carol, Elaine Marshal is just another spokesman for Obamas plan. She is a bigger airhead than Pudue. Go to her website before you make up your mind, of course, that is if you think outside the box on real issues.

I HAVE LISTENED TO BURR AND BELIEVE HE IS THE ONE FOR THE JOB. HE CONTINUES TO FIGHT FOR OUR FOUNDING FATHERS BELIEFS. HE DOES NOT BELIEVE IN A LARGER GOVERNMENT, MORE SPENDING, OR THE OBAMA HEALTH CARE PLAN AS IT IS NOW WHICH WILL COST THE TAXPAYER MORE THAN WAS PROMISED. GO TO BURR'S WEB SITE AND READ WHAT HE BELIEVES IN AND DOES. I APPRECIATE HIS VALUES AND WISH WE HAD MORE LIKE HIM IN WASHINGTON.

Please look at Burr's discussion of policy before you vote. Also, if you read his newsletters he never, ever has an original thought or backs up any of his rhetoric with facts. Burr only knows how to follow the party line, so if that is enough for you, vote Republican. If you have some intelligence, look into his actual record and compare with the other candidate. Burr is a Republican, simply that. He has no intelligence standing on his own. I'd love to see a debate between Bur and Marshall before the election. I hope that happens.

very good, I totally agree. And I think I'll do what the blacks in this area seem to do, vote straight down party lines. Except I'll vote R instead of D.

Looks like Burr will be staying on the 70 corridor the whole time! I'll agree that Burr is a great senator, one of the few, and so is Basnight. To Both of you, Marc Basnight is BY FAR from being bad for everyone. He has done a lot for Eastern North Carolina, especially Northeastern North Carolina when it comes to the jobs and the safety. Marc Basnight is also down to earth and has a great personality. He will get my vote.
