"Blizzards" To Benefit Sick And Injured Children

It's going to be incredibly hot Thursday, but some are hoping for a flurry of "Blizzards."

Thursday is Miracle Treat Day, when Children's Miracle Network will benefit from sales at Dairy Queen stores here in the East and across the country. Dairy Queen says it will donate at least one dollar from each blizzard sold Thursday to the Children's Miracle Network. The event last year raised $4.5 million dollars nationwide.

WITN is a proud sponsor of the Children's Miracle Network telethon for University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina's Children's Hospital. The two-day telethon in June raised $1,111,007.
